A Tote
I made another bag for my mother-in-law. She picked out the coolest material and then let me have at it. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic before I mailed it. But this bag is another version of the one I made her. I made it smaller, and instead of matching the tabs that hold the straps to the straps, I thought it would add interest if I made them black.
I was actually going for shorter and wider, but I got my measurements a little off. I liked the idea of these straps because you could use it as a shoulder bag, or pull them all up and use it as a hand bag, as in the bottom picture. The book I got the pattern from used a velvet material for the top and straps and it looked like it would hang better since velvet is softer. Anyway, I thought it turned out pretty darn good. The lining is the same gold color as the top with a black pocket.

Bag Give Away
As I've mentioned before, I started sewing. You also my not know that I have an addiction to purses and bags. So I thought, why don't I make my own bags? Save money and learn a new skill. I really like it and I'm getting pretty good at it. (Yes I am tooting my own horn. Toot Toot.) Anyway, I would like to start
selling them, and to get them out there and seen, I am going to have a drawing to give a couple away. I will draw two names, one for each bag.

Leave a comment to enter by Thursday, March 10th and Friday morning I will randomly draw and post the winners.
If you would like to buy one, this style is $25. If you would like to pick your own fabric, let me know. We can work something out. I'm testing new styles and will post them as I get them done. Thanks!

Last Months Art Party
In Socorro, once a year, they hold an Art Party for all the kids. It sounded like fun so I loaded up the kids and we headed downtown to a big ol' gym full of people. There were different craft stations everywhere. There were kids and parents everywhere. It was really cool. While the kids were at a nearby station painting pictures with marbles, I learned how to make this.
So fun. Anyway, I think they should have an Art Party for Adults.

Sewing--My deformed OWL
Upon arrival in Socorro, (and after meeting some people) I was invited to join a sewing group. (Thanks Lynn.) I haven't sewed for awhile but I thought it would be a good opportunity to meet more people and make some friends, so I accepted. Now I want to sew, so I found this little sweety of a pattern here, and made one. Okay, so this is my owl I attempted to sew. I re-pinned the wing I don't know how many times and they are still uneven. Anyway, I still like it and Katie thought it was cute. I also need to practice sewing in a circle. I really wish I wouldn't have given all my fabric to Lisa before I moved.....

Cards
This is what we made at the catalog party on Friday night. I totally copied it from Wizardshangout. It was lots of fun to just hang out with friends and talk, and play of course. Creating something always makes me happy.
I also liked it so much, I decided to make another one for my aunt. Her birthday was coming up and her favorite color being purple, I changed the pinks to purples. My family then had disagreements on which one they liked better. What do you think? And I ran out of black brads. They really add to the card.
All supplies are Close to My Heart
Stamp set: Treasure Life
Ink colors: Creme Brulee, Olive, Tulip, Sorbet, Black
Card Stock: White, Creme Brulee, Olive, Tulip
For second card, substitute Tulip ink and card stock with Pansy Purple and Sorbet ink with Petal.
